At the Edge of the Sea – The Wedding Present and friends

Bank Holiday weekend is a busy part of the calendar for a number of reasons. For some of us, it’s because the Wedding Present host their annual mini-festival At the Edge of the Sea at Concorde 2 in Brighton. I was the official photographer for the event once again this year, follow the link for the photos from the bands and some backstage shots too.

Lewes Farmer’s Market – August 2011

Lewes hosts a farmers market on the first Saturday of each month down Cliffe High Street. Locally produced foods that make your toes curl. Very much worth a visit if good food and fine wine is your thing.

Kites!

Saturday was the day Seaford Family Focus Group held their annual kite day in Seaford. The Brighton Kite club came and wowed everyone with their fantastic kite-flying skills whilst visiting children made their own kites and had fun flying them at the Martello Fields.

Public Sector March and Brighton Uncut Action

Today 750, 000 public sector workers were on strike against the savage cuts proposed by this completely out of touch coalition government, intent on their implementation of massively unpopular and entirely unnecessary cuts to public sector pensions. With their claims that parents are against strikes and their ideological agenda masquerading as economic necessity, the government and their lackeys show exactly how out of touch they are with public feeling and if today is anything to go by, there is a whole load of hurt in store for them in the future.

As if that wasn’t enough, Ed Milliband’s condemnation of the strikers demonstrates that all three political parties are out of touch with ordinary working people and working class people are left without any representation in mainstream politics. A sad day for democracy.

These photos are from todays march in Brighton and a subsequent Brighton Uncut action against the more accurate perpetrators of the current fiscal crisis: Vodafone, Boots and Barclays bank, all of whom owe the treasury more in unpaid taxes than is being cited as the deficit needing to be reclaimed by slashing pensions.
